I live in a loft, meaning that my apartment consists of — count ’em — one room total. The kitchen transitions into the dining area, which turns into the living area, which then becomes the bedroom… and while I absolutely love the wide openness of it all,  living without established hallways, doorways and foyers has been quite an adjustment. Oh, the luxury of a mudroom! I never thought that having that kind of functionality would be possible in my home, but when Pottery Barn put us up to the challenge, we thought we’d give it a shot.

Turns out, all you need to create a welcoming and functional entryway is a wall — no built-in cubbies, no closed off space — just an area near your front (or back) door that can fit a bench and some wall hooks. Pottery Barn pointed us in the direction of the Olivia Bench, which provided an instant storage solution, while the runner and textural pillows made for the perfect colorful accents.

A place to write messages — check. Somewhere to stash all my clutter — check.  A seat for comfortably tying on my kicks and fastening the Coco’s leash — check. See all the products I chose and more tips for creating your own entryway by visiting the Pottery Barn blog here. Oh! And don’t forget to look for Coco’s modeling debut in the PB catalogue this week… eeek!
